Starting a Project with NGSC
Are you thinking about starting a project with the Next Generation Sequencing Center (NGSC)? The first step to any project is to set up a consultation meeting with our directors. During this meeting, we will discuss your research project and select the most appropriate sequencing approach. You do not need to have samples ready for this meeting. The primary focus of this meeting is to learn about your potential project, and then tailor our approach for he analysis to fit your needs.
To request a consultation meeting with our directors, please send an email to: NGSC@jhu.edu .
Samples can be dropped off at our lab, CRB II Room 131, on Tuesdays and Thursdays between the hours of 10am to 11am and 1pm to 2pm. Please notify us before you plan to drop off your samples. It is important that our staff is present to ensure your samples are handled properly.
Prior to dropping off your samples, you will be asked to complete our sample submission sheet and will be given an authorization code. Please enter the proper authorization code on the form. You can download the form by clicking here.
Sequencing & Analysis
Due to an increasingly high volume of projects coming through the NGSC, the turn around time from sample drop off to completed analysis is about 10 weeks. We will keep you updated on the status of your project during this time.
